French textile recycling technology company Laroche acquired by ANDRITZ

ANDRITZ, a global technology group, has inked an agreement with French textile technology company Laroche. Under the agreement, ANDRITZ will acquire all Laroche entities, including Laroche SA and Miltec SA, and their global businesses.
The closing of the transaction is expected to be in early 2021.
As Laroche product portfolio includes fibre processing technologies such as opening, blending and dosing, airlay web forming, textile waste recycling and decortication of bast fibres, it will complement the nonwoven product range of ANDRITZ.
With this acquisition, ANDRITZ will now be offering the complete technology range in textile value chain – from the raw material to opening and blending, web forming, bonding, finishing, drying and converting.
Furthermore, the enhanced scope of supplying technologies for spunlace, needlepunch and wetlaid production lines is an added advantage for ANDRITZ now.
Terming this acquisition a logical conclusion, Robert Laroche, President, Laroche commented, “ANDRITZ and Laroche have been working closely for over 10 years and are looking forward to becoming a member of the ANDRITZ family.”
The agreement also says the technologies will be developed and used for high-capacity and high-speed applications as well as will pursue the development of textile recycling processes to stay ahead in the industry.
Andreas Lukas, Senior Vice President and Division Manager, ANDRITZ Nonwoven, shared, “Laroche’s expertise and state-of-the-art technologies to our existing capabilities will further strengthen our market and technology position.”
